Pascale Montpetit
Pascale Montpetit has been a faithful and committed supporter of Oxfam-Québec since 1993.
As a comedienne, Pascale is one of Québec's most highly regarded artists. She plays to wild acclaim in theatre, movies and television. In the theatre, she has worked with Carl Béchard, Denis Marleau, Brigitte Haentjens, Lorraine Pintal and André Brassard. In cinema, she has made more than a dozen films, including Savage Messiah (M. Azzopardi), L'invention de l'amour (C. Demers), Jackpot (John Smith) and Charles Binamé’s La beauté de Pandore, Le cœur au poing and Eldorado. On television, she has been featured on such programs as Destinées, Histoires de filles, Pure laine, Mon meilleur ennemi, Réseaux, Diva, Maman chérie, Sous un ciel variable and Blanche. She has won several performing artist awards (Gascon-Roux, Jutra, Gémeaux, Génie et MetroStar).
Year in and year out, Pascale has maintained her commitment to Oxfam-Québec, taking part in demonstrations and in fundraising events, and promoting fair trade and consumer justice.
"Oxfam-Québec is working for sustainable development, following the good old principle that it's better to teach a man to fish than to give him a fish. The challenges at this time are tremendous, and the needs are so great that we really don't even know where to begin. Yet Oxfam-Québec is charting the course. I have boundless admiration for altruistic people—they’re the really civilized ones!"
