For All! Water: A few statistics
![]() |
“It’s really hard work because the water buckets are so heavy… I’ve heard that, in other places, people just turn on a tap in their house and water comes out. I would love a tap like that in our house.”

According to the United Nations, every person should have access to twenty litres of clean water to satisfy their basic daily needs.
Yet, every day:
Over a billion people worldwide
do not have access to safe drinking water
2.4 billion people do not have access to proper sanitary facilities
Every day 4000 children die of diarrhea,
a disease caused by dirty water
In some regions, women and girls have to walk
more than 6 kilometers everyday day
to fetch water
