History of Oxfam-Québec in the country:

Oxfam-Québec has been working with the people of Haiti since 1983.

From 1987 to 1997, Oxfam-Québec supported over 60 sustainable development and humanitarian assistance projects in the following sectors: repatriation support, human rights, agriculture, health, community development and institutional support.

In October 1989, Oxfam-Québec opened its office in Haiti, which has since led to increased collaboration with various partners.

Following the coup on September 30, 1991, the climate of insecurity and the lack of conditions favourable to carrying out development activities, the Oxfam-Québec team returned to Montreal in October 1991.

With the return of the constitutional government on October 15, 1994, Oxfam-Québec was able to continue developing its programme.

Following the successful integration of CLUB 2/3 and Oxfam-Québec in 2005, the national office in Haiti now also manages CLUB 2/3’s projects in the country.

CLUB 2/3 has been active in Haiti since the organization’s inception in 1970, and is recognized for its expertise in working with youth.

Today, Oxfam-Québec is working to help rebuild the country through a number of sustainable development projects aimed at rehabilitating the area, agriculture and educating youth.
