Plan your giving

You can:

• Designate Oxfam-Québec as owner or beneficiary of your life insurance policy
• Bequeath a specific amount, a percentage, or the remainder of your estate, an asset, the proceeds of an RRSP or an RRSF, or even a percentage of your retirement fund

Planned gifts produce rights to a non-refundable tax credit for a percentage of their value, depending on the type of gift.

Bequests
You can perpetuate your support for your favourite causes and pay tribute to your values by making a bequest to Oxfam-Québec. All you have to do is name Oxfam-Québec in your will as beneficiary of property or an amount of money. Bequests are easy to plan and they can make a considerable dent in succession duties.

Life insurance gifts
Transfer your existing life insurance policy or designate Oxfam-Québec as beneficiary in your new policy.

Charitable gift annuity
Make a capital donation to Oxfam-Québec and in return we will pay you an annual annuity (worth 80% of the amount) for the rest of your life.

Charitable remainder trust
You can make a major donation while continuing to receive income from the property you have transferred. The trust manages the property until the time of your death, when it will be transferred to Oxfam-Québec.

Gifts in kind
Gifts in kind involve assets such as real property, marketable securities, works of art, jewellery or collectibles. After having the goods appraised by an independent expert, Oxfam-Québec will send you an official receipt. In some cases, you may be able to earn a tax benefit, while retaining use of the asset for the rest of your life.
