Change the face of the world
Nearly 1.2 billion people live on less than a dollar a day.
More than 1 billion people have no safe drinking water.
One adult in five is illiterate.
“Change the face of the world” was conceived by two students, François Gaumond and Philippe Marchesseault, who wanted to put their shared enthusiasm for information technologies to work for a fairer and poverty-free world.
The goal is to enlist 140 000 people to form a huge virtual mosaic that will testify to their solidarity.
The money raised through this initiative will go to sustainable development projects sponsored by Oxfam-Québec and its youth division, Club 2/3, with special emphasis on public services (education, health, water and sanitation).
