Country:
Niger Project description:
This pilot project, which is part of a longer-term strategy, involves developing a waste collection system and strengthening neighbourhood health committees in the community of Niamey. The project aims to find an eco-friendly way of managing solid household waste and develop a system to collect and recycle organic waste, construction debris and plastic bags. The four neighbourhoods in the pilot project are those where population density is the highest and sanitation problems the most urgent. In total, 3,400 households will be involved in the project.
