Our overseas volunteers
These men and women are putting their experience and their professional skills to work for the collective welfare of disadvantaged population groups
Every year, Oxfam-Québec fields as many as a hundred international volunteers to assist local partners in development projects and humanitarian activities.
These committed and motivated people go out to the countries where we are present and through their services (which they offer without pay) make a valuable contribution to sustainable human development.
Once they are in the field, they face both professional and personal challenges. Working successfully in a different cultural setting demands a good deal of adaptability and flexibility.
When they come home, our volunteers become agents of education and public awareness. We invite them to share their experiences through the media, through our publications, or in the schools, and to tell people what life is like in developing countries.
