History of Oxfam-Québec in the country:

Oxfam-Québec has been working in Bolivia since 1984.

Oxfam-Québec has supported many institutions and community groups in Bolivia, particularly those working in community organization, animation and social research. We have also carried out other activities in health, agriculture and microbusiness.

Since 1987, Oxfam-Québec has focused its activities in three geographical areas: the highlands (Potosi, La Paz and Tupiza), valleys (Sucre, Cochabamba and Tarija) and tropics (Santa Cruz).

Oxfam-Québec’s regional office for Bolivia, Peru, Paraguay and Brazil is based in La Paz.

An agreement between Oxfam-Québec, Cirque du Soleil, Jeunesse du Monde and El Canelo de Nos(Chile), led to the launch of activities within the Cirque du Monde program in Chile in 1998 and to the development of a working relationship with a partner in Brazil.

Today, Oxfam-Québec’s efforts are focused on sustainable development in agriculture and health.
