Ceasefire
now and permanent
We call for the immediate restoration of the ceasefire and the lifting of the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, where humanitarian operations are severely hampered by the renewal of the Israeli military assault.
After 7 days of renewed hostilities, the death toll of 50,000 has been exceeded and continues to rise daily. The delivery of humanitarian aid has been suspended, electricity has been cut off throughout the territory and thousands of people have once again been forced to flee the violence.
Drinking water and food are in short supply. There’s nowhere safe to go. People are sleeping in crowded spaces, in tents or on the streets. Quite simply, this is a humanitarian catastrophe. We must act now !

Demand that humanitarian aid be allowed into Gaza
Protect Palestinian and Israeli civilians and humanitarian workers from bombs and fighting. Let us avoid imminent famine. A ceasefire is the only way to guarantee the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, to free all civilians who are being held, and to evacuate those in need of health care.
Canada has announced the suspension of new arms export permits to Israel. For this step in the right direction to have a real impact, all military exports, even those authorized before 2024, must cease.
Pressure from Canadians has helped change the position of the Canadian government, which has come out in favor of an immediate humanitarian ceasefire. Let’s now demand that Canada go further to make a permanent ceasefire a reality.

The situation in the Gaza Strip is critical
The bombardment of densely populated areas throughout Gaza has resulted in the deaths of over 50,000 people, almost 70% of them women and children, and disastrous humanitarian consequences for the civilian population, who have nowhere to flee.
90% of Gaza’s population – 1.9 million people – have had to move within the country. Some 17,000 children are unaccompanied, and more than a million need mental health and psychosocial support.
New Israeli bombardments of residential areas, including Jabaliya and Khan Younès, have killed almost 700 people, including at least 200 children, since March 18, 2025. The Israeli authorities have issued new forced displacement orders, forcing around 120,000 people to flee across at least 37% of Gaza’s territory. These orders are causing panic and chaos in the absence of any safe place to take refuge.
The Israeli authorities refuse entry to trucks loaded with 63,000 tons of food for 1.1 million people.
Access to water, food, fuel, medical supplies and healthcare is still extremely difficult and restricted. Most people are no longer able to feed themselves and their families. Without a real and immediate ceasefire and the entry of humanitarian aid proportionate to the crying needs of the civilian population, Gaza risks being pushed towards famine.
